Professional surf Ace Buchan travels the world with his wife, three children and all the katundu that comes with it. (“Katundu” means baggage in the African language Chichewa — Ace picked the word up from his parents, who grew up in southern Africa.) And while he can’t bring boards for his entire brood, he leans on Awayco to keep the family entertained on days when he’s not surfing in WSL Championship Tour events.
Here, Ace and family Awayco boards from The Surfers Lodge in Peniche, where they also stay when they’re in town. Video by Peter King.
You can ride the same boards next time you’re in the area, including two of Ace’s personal boards he left behind! Click below for more details.
